KANNUR: Officials of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) here on Wednesday booked 35 tipper lorries that were found to have violated the enforcement of speed governors. Tipper lorries in different parts of the district were inspected as part of a State-wide drive to book vehicles without speed governors in the wake of the expiry of time given to tipper lorry owners to fit the speed governors. As many as 144 lorries were inspected. Cases were registered against 35 vehicles. Certificates of fitness of 16 tipper lorries were cancelled as their speed governors were found to have been disconnected.
