Rajahmundry: East Godavari district police arrested four militants belong to CPI (ML-Maoists) and recovered a huge haul of ammunition from few dumps in Addateegala mandal on Wednesday. The police also recovered one 303 rifle and a kit bag in an exchange of fire that took place near Marrigudem under Donkarai police limits in Y. Ramavaram mandal around 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday. Addressing a press conference late in the night, Superintendent of Police B. Srinivasulu said that the dumps were recovered on the outskirts of Rollagadda village in Addateegala mandal. Police have arrested four militants -- Giduturi Pantulu and Bonem Murthy of T.P. Rallu village in Koyyuru mandal, M. Chinna Rao of Rollagadda village in Addateegala mandal, and Bonem Lingaiah of Gangavaram village of Koyyuru mandal. Speaking to reporters, Chinna Rao said that on June 17, 2003 they attacked a police party near Duscharla village in Chodavaram mandal, in which two police personnel were killed and the naxalites escaped with one SLR and one LMG.
