NEW DELHI: Carrying forward their demand, Congress leaders from coastal Andhra Pradesh led by Members of Parliament C.Hariram Jogaiah and Harsh Kumar on Wednesday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders on the issue. Two days ago, these leaders along with a delegation of several organisations, had in a meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi urged the party to take a view on the demand for separate State on the lines of demand for Telangana. They impressed upon the leadership that the State should be re-organised. The argument was that unless the party resolves the issue at the earliest, this cannot be achieved. On Wednesday, these leaders also met AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and urged that the party consider setting up a separate regional coordination committee on the lines of the one for Telangana. They felt by doing so, the party would be able to consolidate opinion and views on the issue of separate Statehood in other parts of the State. The Congress MPs also met former Bharatiya Janata Party president M. Venkaiah Naidu on this issue.
