School teachers' convention on April 7

Madikeri: The district-level convention of the Karnataka Primary School Teachers Association, Kodagu unit, will be held at the Gandhi Maidan here on April 7, association president K.B. Kalappa said here on Wednesday.

Minister for Primary Education Basavaraj Horatti would inaugurate the convention, Mr. Kalappa said.

The Department of Public Instruction would join hands with the association in organising the convention. MLAs B.A. Jivijaya from Somwarpet, K.G. Bopaiah from Madikeri, H.D. Basavaraj from Virajpet and C.S.Arun Machaiah, MLC, would attend.

Sports and games for teachers and staff of the Education Department would be held at the maidan here on April 6, Mr. Kalappa said. A souvenir would be brought out on the occasionThe president of Madikeri taluk unit, P.S. Keshava and president of the Virajpet taluk, K.M. Devaiah, were present.
