CBI may challenge Bihar plea in Lalu case

Special Correspondent

PATNA : The Central Bureau of Investigation is likely to question the maintainability of the State Government's petition before the Patna High Court challenging the acquittal by a trial court of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi in a disproportionate assets case.

CBI advocate Gopal Subramanian underlined the agency's intention even as the hearing on the admission of the State Government's appeal was deferred by a day for Thursday. The CBI has decided not to challenge the trial court's ruling.
