CIC fines passport officer

NEW DELHI: A passport officer, who harassed an information seeker and refused to disclose details in respect of an RTI application, has received flak from the Central Information Commission which imposed the penalty of Rs 25,000 on him. ``The Commission was mortified to observe that Passport Officer & PIO, Shailesh Kumar Yadav, , does not have any respect for the RTI Act ,'' said Information Commissioner O P Kejariwal.- PTI
