Hutch rings in `no data loss' service for subscribers

CHENNAI:
Lost your mobile phone? Hutch subscribers need not worry about losing their contacts and data along with their phone the service provider has launched a back-up service to save phone book data.
Users of the service, said to be first of its kind, would be able to preserve phone numbers, text and multimedia messages, ringtones, games, photos and videos.
They could also switch phones as well as restore data on a new handset.
The service can be activated on GPRS-enabled phones for a monthly fee of Rs.50. Subscribers with non-GPRS phones can SMS BACKUP to 52585 to activate the service. They will be charged Rs.30 per month.
Once installed, the application automatically backs up data from the customer's phone to a server. The subscriber would be able to access this data with the help of a username/password.
