Honour for artistes
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
Three artistes, including renowned drummer Sivamani, are to be felicitated by the Vasavi Arya Vysya Association here on March 25.
The other two are B.A. Narayana, blessed with the "golden voice" of Ghantasala, and choreographer and Kalaimamani awardee Madhavapeddi Murthy.
The event is special because it is the first-ever formal felicitation of Chennai boy Sivamani, whose father S.M. Anandan used to work as a sound operator in Vijaya Gardens studio before becoming a drummer in K.V. Mahadevan's troupe, said Association's secretary B. Sreeraamulu.
The felicitation, to be followed by a concert by the drummer, is being organised to mark Ugadi celebrations.
