It was a dream come true for this gang of college mates, smitten by the silver screen. For Vinu Joseph, director of the newly released Malayalam movie ``November Rain'' and team, cinema had become the crux of life years ago. ``November Rain'' is the result of a group of youngsters' intense yearning for venturing out into the magical lure of cinema. It was Shaji M. Basheer, member of the film lovers group, who prompted the director to realising what had seemed impossible so far. "All day, we went along `planning' films, though we were aware that nothing would materialise," remembers Vinu. He knew that it would be difficult for him to win the confidence of producers with his boyish looks. At Shaji's insistence, he decided to start the work of a script. The scriptwriter was found in Santhosh Echikkanam, Malayalam writer, who had been a regular visitor to Maharaja's College. The script was written in Fort Kochi. Shaji, became the producer. Viswamangalam Kichchu, another FTII graduate, became the cinematographer. Music was by Anoop S. Nair, another youngster. B. Ajithkumar, film editor, who extended a supportive hand to the struggling team, did the editing. There was only a meagre budget and to make matters worse, the work was disrupted due to a variety of reasons. Except for Lalu Alex and Geeta, who don the roles of the parents of the hero, the film has more or less a cast of newcomers, with Arun, who had acted in `4 the People,' and Nimisha, a new face, in the lead roles. The film deals with many issues facing the youth today.
