Cattle show begins on Friday

KOLLAM: The annual district-level cattle show organised by the Dairy Development Department will be held at Kuzhimathikad, near here, on Friday and Saturday.

Various programmes have been organised in connection with the event.

Kottarakara block panchayat president K.G. Radhakrishnan would inaugurate the show on Friday, B. Harishankar, general convener of the festival and deputy director of the department, said.

Labour Minister P.K. Gurudasan will inaugurate a workshop for the employees of the department the same day.

Adoor MP Chengara Surendran will inaugurate an exhibition in connection with the show.

District panchayat president K. Devaki will speak.

On Saturday, a rally by dairy farmers will be held. Minister for Dairy Development C. Divakaran will inaugurate a seminar on dairy development.

A quiz will also be held.
