TIRUCHI: Members of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam staged a demonstration in the city condemning the rise in prices. At the demonstration organised near the Collectorate was led by the party's district deputy secretary and former Minister Ku. Pa. Krishnan. The members raised slogans against the steep rise in prices and criticised the Centre as well as the State Government for "failing" to check the price rise. Similar demonstrations were held in front of the taluk offices at Lalgudi, Mannachanallur, Thuraiyur, Manapparai, Musiri and Thottiyam in the district.
Thanjavur
DMDK members staged a demonstration before Pangal Building here on Wednesday protesting against rise in prices of essential commodities. They urged the Central and State Governments to take steps to bring down the prices. P. Sivanesan, district secretary, led the agitation. M. Mohamed Ali, town president, participated.
Pudukottai
Party cadres staged demonstration at the taluk headquarters in the district. In Pudukottai, it was led by party district president S. Jawahir. Agitations were held in other centres, including Aranthangi, Tirumayam, Alankudi, Manamelkudi and Avudaiyarkovil.
Perambalur
Cadres staged agitation at six centres, including Ariyalur and Perambalur. In Perambalur town, district president Durai Kamaraj led the agitation.
