Was under the impression that he had contracted AIDS

HYDERABAD:
Depressed over the mistaken belief that he was suffering from AIDS, Ravi Nayak (30), a car driver, committed suicide at Gandhinagar on Wednesday, the police said.
Ravi did not contract AIDS but his deteriorating health led him to believe that he was suffering from it, Musheerabad Inspector V. Syambabu told reporters quoting victim's medical reports.
He underwent tests at a diagnostic lab in Musheerabad. The reports too said he tested negative. But somehow Ravi believed that his failing health was connected to AIDS. He hanged himself to the ceiling fan in the rented house. No suicide note was found.
