Noisy scenes witnessed in the House

HYDERABAD: The attack on Siasat Editor Zahed Ali Khan figured in the Assembly on Wednesday as various parties insisted on a debate since it had serious implications.

Noisy scenes were witnessed in the House after Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy disallowed notices of adjournment motion given by the opposition parties. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy intervened at this stage to pacify the agitated members.

Dr. Reddy said City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh was one of the first to reach the spot after the incident came to light around 10 p.m. He also said three persons were taken into custody and two more were at large. The very thought about the whole incident was repulsive, he added.

Dr. Reddy promised to get inquired a complaint by MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi to discuss the attack on a journalist and photographer of another Urdu daily.
