IOC to open auto LPG station

Thiruvananthapuram: The first auto LPG station of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) in the city will start functioning at Muttathara, along the Kovalam bypass road, on Saturday. Tanks with a capacity of 15,000 litres and equipment imported from Australia have been installed at the gas station. The station will service only vehicles fitted with conversion kits manufactured by recognised companies.

CETAA felicitate two members

THIRUVaNANTHAPURAM: The CETAA Forum 1969 of the College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram Alumni Association felicitated two of its members on their achievement here on Sunday. Those honoured were A.Subramanian, Project Director, Satellite Re-entry, ISRO and S.R.Pillai, CGM, BSNL, Kerala Circle, Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting was chaired by president of the Forum Ashalatha Thampuran.

MoU signed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State IT Mission and Red Hat, the frontline institution in the area of Free Software, signed an MoU here on Wednesday to speed up the use of Free Software in Kerala. The MoU was signed by Special Secretary for IT K.R. Jyothilal and Chief Executive of Red Hat Nandu Pradhan in the presence of Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan.

Bodies to arrive today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The mortal remains of Captain R. Harshan of 2 Para Special Force and Naik Ratish Kumar of 515 Engineer Regiment, who were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir on March 20, will be brought to the city on Thursday. The mortal remains of the deceased soldiers will be arrive by IC 167 flight from Delhi at 1.30 p.m., a release from Defence Wing said.

Condolence meeting

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sree Nagar Residents Association will hold a meeting on Thursday to condole the death of Captain Harshan, according to Secretary of the association H. Majid and Councillor, Kuriathi Sasi.

Coaching class

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: District Tourism Promotion Council's coaching for swimming in Akkulam and Veli for children above five years will commence on April 1. The coaching classes will be from 7.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m.; 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Contact the Chief Coach, Veli or Assistant Manager, Veli swimming pool, a release from the DTPC said.
