NEW DELHI: A Kenya-based Non-Resident Indian has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi police on charges of cheating a Ghaziabad businessman of Rs.1.25 crore on the pretext of supplying him aluminium ingots from Nigeria. Pradeep Kumar Garg, a business partner in PGR Overseas, lodged a complaint with EOW alleging that some persons cheated him on the pretext of exporting aluminium ingots to him. In March 2004, he met Rajeev and Sanjeev Aggarwal, directors of a firm named Doncapo Afroasia, for negotiation to import aluminium ingots from Nigeria. Mr. Garg agreed to import a large quantity of aluminium ingots. To Mr. Garg's shock, only few aluminium ingots were found in the containers. The documents later turned out to be forged.
