`Develop interest in research, help society reap the benefits of science'

BANGALORE: "Jnanarjana-2007," a national level symposium on "Breakthrough in Molecular Diagnostics," was inaugurated by Minister of Science and Technology Ramachandra Gowda here on Thursday. The symposium was organised by Oxford College Science. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that inculcation of knowledge was a very important part of life, and acknowledged the role and achievements of private educational institutions in promoting higher education.

Mr. Gowda also stressed the necessity to have a bent of mind for research that would help society reap the benefits of science.

Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University K. Balaveera Reddy emphasised the importance of online examination and transparent valuation.

Radha Ramadevi, Head of Diagnostic Division, CDFD, Hyderabad, was present on the occasion.
