Special Correspondent
Puducherry: The Department of Labour here has launched a drive against child labour. An official release said here on Thursday that the department would trace children below 14 years who had dropped out or had never gone to schools and bring them back or enrol them in the institutions.
Training for women
The department would associate a team of 40 women who were now undergoing special training in skill development programme in Gandhi Nagar near here. Inaugurating the training programme, Health and Labour Minister E Valsaraj said this was the ninth batch of women who would undergo training to augment their skills. They would be enabled to take up self-employment programmes and bank loans would also be available for the trainees to start their units.
