Student run over by train

HUBLI: An SSLC student who was to appear for the mathematics examination on Thursday was run over by a goods train.

The incident occurred near the V.S. Pillay English Medium School, one of the centres for the SSLC examination in Hubli. The police gave the name of the victim as Shilpa Rane, daughter of Pralhad Rane, residing in Vinayak Nagar . According to the victim's family, Shilpa, a student of Mahaveer English Medium School, was late for the examination and had left the house in a hurry.
