PANAJI: In a sudden development, the Goa Government on Thursday appointed Ramesh Negi the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the State in place of Raajiv Yadunvanshi. Mr. Negi, who is the State Secretary for Finance, will take charge from April 1. Earlier, Leader of the Opposition Manohar Parrikar had demanded the transfer of Mr. Yaduvanshi and Deputy Inspector General of Police Ujjwal Mishra expressing doubts over their ability to perform their duties impartially during the State Assembly elections to be held in May.
