Staff Correspondent

BIJAPUR: Member of Communist Party of India (Marxist)'s State Secretariat, Maruthi Manpade, has urged the police to arrest P.S. Vastrad, the main accused in the case of kidnap and assault of senior party leader Bhimshi Kaladagi, under the Goonda Act.

Mr. Kaladagi, who is also vice-president of Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha, is recovering at the district hospital here since his release last week, and all the eight accused have got bail.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Manpade said the bail norms were being violated by the accused, and Mr. Kaladagi and family members were receiving threatening calls.
