Tiruvallur in last four

CHENNAI: Tiruvallur chalked out a three-wicket win over Coimbatore to enter the semifinals of the S.S. Rajan trophy TNCA inter-district limited overs cricket tournament.

Tiruvallur will now meet Vellore in the semifinal to be played on March 27.

The scores: Coimbatore 248 for nine in 50 overs (V. Sathish 88, Aslam Sher Khan 35, R. Tarun 54, M.K. Sivakumar three for 46) lost to Tiruvallur 249 for seven in 43.5 overs (S. Thyagarajan 70, K. Sriram 47 not out)

At Tiruchi: Kancheepuram 236 in 43.4 overs (V. Devendran 75, G. Vignesh 61) bt Tuticorin 139 in 31.4 overs (K. Sunny six for 33).

At Madurai: Madurai 339 for six in 50 overs (Santhosh Gopi 77, Jaishankar 85, Subramania Siva 103 not out) bt Thiruvannamalai 297 in 46.5 overs (Senthil 39, C. Rajesh 46, Haji Basha 58).

At Karaikudi: Vellore 231 for nine in 50 overs (Arun Karthik 71, Padmanaban 50, Manivannan 39) bt Dindigul 207 in 47.4 overs (Karthik 39, M. Mohamed Rafik 41, Rajinikanth four for 39).
