Big win for Netherlands

BASSETERRE (St. Kitts): The Netherlands thrashed Scotland by eight wickets in their World Cup Group `A' match at Warner Park here on Thursday.

After restricting Scotland to 136, the Netherlands reached the target in just 23.5 overs with opener Bas Zuiderent unbeaten on 43 and Ryan ten Doeschate blasting his way to 70 off just 68 balls with 13 fours and a six.

Earlier, Billy Stelling took three wickets to help the Netherlands dismiss Scotland cheaply. — AP
