DHARWAD: On day two of the SSLC examination, three students were debarred in Haveri and Dharwad for indulging in malpractice. While two students belonged to Haveri district, the other was from Dharwad district. Three teachers, including a headmaster, were relieved from supervision work for not adhering to the examination guidelines.
Cheating
Deputy Director of Public Instructions, Haveri, said H.M. Halemani was found indulging in malpractice at the Hurulikoppi examination centre in Savanur taluk, Manjunath Tatti was found doing the same at the examination centre in Basavanneppa High School, Herur in Hangal taluk. Durgappa N. Talawar was debarred from a centre in Navalgund taluk. The DDPI of Dharwad V.M. Patil said a headmaster attached to an examination centre in Dharwad who was officiating as superintendent was relieved from duty for failing to follow the guidelines. In Gadag district, the DDPI of Gadag relieved two teachers from examination supervision work. In view of the mathematics examination on Thursday, security outside certain examination centres was tightened.
Increase in security
At the Presentation School in Dharwad where it was reported that outsiders entered the premises on Wednesday, the police had increased security. At several centres, the examination was videotaped.
