KDP meeting discusses progress of projects

SHIMOGA: The Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) at its meeting here on Wednesday took a decision to serve notices to officials who did not attend the meeting asking them to explain the reasons for absence.

President of the zilla panchayat Sharada Purya Naik, who presided over the meeting, said the meeting was convened to discuss the progress of development projects

She said information was sought from the Engineering Department of the zilla panchayat about the transfer of some of its projects to the Command Area Development Authority. "But no information has been provided by the officials concerned," she said and pointed out that it was their responsibility to furnish information sought by elected members.

Deputy Director of Food Department Shivanna said 28 kg of rice and six kg of wheat had been given to Antyodaya Card holders .

Vice-president of the ZP Bheemaneri Shivappa asked the officials to distribute ration cards on time.

Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture N. Harikumar said 127 of 145 offices in the district had responded to queries on implementation of Kannada in administration.

The CEO of the ZP, P. Bore Gowda was present.
