PALAKKAD: A march taken out by the Plachimada Coca-Cola Virudha Samara Samithy from Kasaragod on March 10 to Thiruvanathapuram was accorded a reception at the Stadium bus stand here on Thursday. Vilayodi Venugopal, who led the march, said Coca-Cola should not be allowed to leave Plachimada without compensating the farmers and other local people affected by its operations due to exploitation and pollution of ground water. He said the Left Democratic Front, which came to power taking up people's issues, had neglected the issues after it assumed power. Muthalamthode Mani, finance committee chairman, presided.
