NALGONDA: The district administration has relieved 14 officials of duty holding them responsible for lapses in conducing tenth class examinations that begun on Wednesday. The District Education Officer V.N. Mastanaiah told The Hindu on Thursday that three chief superintendents, three departmental officers and five invigilators were relieved from duties following a goof-up in distributing question papers at three examination centres in the district on Wednesday. "Despite clear instructions given by my department about the distribution of question papers, the officials committed blunder," the DEO maintained. Mr. Mastanaiah said that three more invigilators were removed as they allegedly failed to discharge their duties properly on Thursday. "The officials could not prevent students from changing their answer sheets," he said. Meanwhile, Collector K. Vijayanand said that disciplinary action would be taken against officials who failed to discharge their duties seriously.
