DNA matched

Dehra Dun: The DNA of slain poetess Madhumita Shukla's foetus has matched with that of Amarmani Tripathi, former Uttar Pradesh Minister and one of the prime accused in the murder case, a scientist told the court on Thursday.

Appearing before District and Sessions Judge V. B. Roy, who is hearing the Madhumita Shukla murder case, Dr S.P.R. Prasad of Hyderabad Forensic Laboratory said the DNA sample of the foetus carried by Madhumita matched with that of Tripathi, the CBI sources said. A handwriting expert also told the court that the handwriting found in the letters written by Tripathi and Madhumita to each other were matched. -- PTI
