Guwahati: Senior journalist and a former editor Amit Nag passed away at his Club Road residence in Silchar on Thursday night. He was 73. He left behind his wife and his only son. He was suffering from kidney ailment. Late Nag was associated with the erstwhile English daily Amrit Bazar Patrika published from Kolkata and Bengali daily Yugantar as their Guwahati correspondent for more than two decades from 1970 till first part of nineties and traveled extensively the northeast region to report the happenings of the region in these two newspapers. He later joined as the editor of Newsfront published from Guwahati.
