New chairman for CII State Council

CHENNAI:
Gopal Srinivasan, director of TVS Electronics, assumed office as chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry's Tamil Nadu State Council during the annual day celebrations held on Thursday.
Manikam Ramaswami, chairman and managing director, Loyal Textile Mills Ltd, Chennai, has been elected vice-chairman of the council. Mr. Srinivasan took over from Mr. Jayavarthanavelu, director, Lakshmi Machine Works Limited.
A member of the CII Southern Regional Council, he is also the joint managing director of the Sundaram-Clayton Ltd and is on the board of several TVS Group Companies.
He holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan, USA.
Mr. Ramaswami, an alumnus of the IIT Madras, was chairman of the Textile Sub-committee of CII Southern Region during 2004-05.
