Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Thursday said Rs. 1 lakh would be deposited in the Tamil Nadu Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation for the educational and training needs of child athlete L.S. Sivasri of Madurai.
An official release said Sivasri, who ran 29.4 km in 169 minutes in an attempt to find a place in the record books, called on the Chief Minister here recently. Mr. Karunanidhi commended the five-year-old girl for her endeavour to win a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The amount would be released from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. The parents of Sivasri could avail themselves of the interest from the deposit to meet their daughter's educational and training needs, it said.
