BANGALORE: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has extended its support to the 115 students of a city-based private nursing college that was recently derecognised by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The college, the students alleged, refused to return their certificates and other documents. The students had organised a protest demonstration at the university demanding action against the college management's "indifferent" attitude to their problems. The students complained that the university too did not care about their problems. The High Court had ordered the university to take stringent action against the erring colleges, the students said. But the varsity top brass was not cooperating, the students alleged. SIO urged the State Government to intervene in the matter.
