Minister clarifies on gas connections
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
There is no condition of buying a new stove with every new gas connection or a transferred one. Minister for Civil Supplies N. Raghuveera Reddy on Thursday asked officials of oil companies to display on the notice boards a clarification to this effect.
Besides, he also asked the gas agencies not to insist on the 21-day condition and showing of ration cards by consumers when they sought a refill.
Online filing of VAT
The Commissioner of Commercial Taxes has appealed to the traders in Hyderabad and Secunderabad to make use of the facility created for online filing of value-added tax (VAT) and Central Sales Tax returns.
Interested traders have to register themselves online and obtain a password through e-mail.
Using this password, they could file their returns from their place of business instead of coming to the Commercial tax offices. Traders could get acknowledgement receipts for payment of tax and filing of returns. Initially, this facility would be available only for those in the twin cities but it would be gradually extended to other parts of the State too. Further details can be obtained on www.apcommercialtaxes.gov.in/ereturn, according to a press release.
