Hepatitis B vaccination for MCH employees

HYDERABAD:
The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad has initiated the process of having its entire 8,000 regular and also contract staff in the Sanitation department to be vaccinated against Hepatitis B.
Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Jaju inaugurated the vaccination programme on Thursday and said the regular staff will be given the vaccine to begin with and in the next phase contract staff too will be getting it.
The vaccine administration will be continued till March 28 while subsequent doses will be administered in April and May.
Shantha Biotech has made the vaccine available along with the required nursing personnel.
In all four zones
The programme will be simultaneously conducted in all the four zones covering all the circles and offices in Khairatabad, Abids, Charminar, Secunderabad and the Head Office from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Shankar Narayanan, Additional Commissioner of Health & Sanitation Rama Mohana Rao, Dr. Naina Joshi, Professor of Gastroenterology, NIMS and others were present.
