NEW DELHI: A happy ending to nearly a week of hard work, dog lovers adopted and took home with them 32 laboratory dogs released by Ranbaxy Laboratories here on Wednesday morning. The beagle dogs brought in from the United States and the United Kingdom were used in the company's laboratory experimentations' unit and have been released after use. With help from non-government organisation Friendicoes SECA, the dogs have now found willing takers and been adopted. "We had appealed to Delhiites and dog lovers to help find good homes,'' said Geeta Seshamani, vice-president of Friendicoes SECA. "It was a pleasant surprise to see so many people coming forward willing to open their hearts and homes to these dogs. It was a very satisfying moment for all of us at Friendicoes to see every animal find a loving home,'' she added. Speaking about the hard work that ensured a willing taker for each dog, Ms. Seshamani said: "After we send the message out to dog lovers, we received hundreds of SMS messages from cities including Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai with people willing to give homes for these dogs and even willing to fly down to Delhi to adopt the dogs. We are happy to state the dogs have now found good home.''
