Tailor found dead in north Delhi
The incident came to light on Wednesday evening when tailor Sarvesh's landlord went to his shop after noticing his absence for over a week. ``For the past week, Sarvesh had not opened his shop and when his landlord broke the lock and entered the shop the tailor was found lying in a pool of blood,'' a senior police official said. Police said the throat of the victim was slit with some sharp edged weapon and there were injury marks on the neck. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Air traffic disrupted at IGIA for three hours
Airport sources said that as many as 17 flights were diverted to nearby airports and the entire schedule was disrupted. Lights on the main runway were off from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Maintenance work by workers of Delhi International Airports Limited restored the lights, they said.
Fog makes unusual appearance
The MeT Department attributed the phenomenon to northerly winds due to moisture content in the atmosphere, which it said was unusual during this period. ``Fog during this period is unusual and this is a new scenario,'' the Weatherman said. The Runway Visbility Range dropped to 200 metres while normal visibility sank to 100 metres during the foggy hours disrupting air traffic.
Two arrested at Dhaula Kuan
Rahimuddin and Bichalu, both residents of Bihar, were arrested following a complaint by one Ram Dayal on Wednesday that two persons stole his belongings and cash after drugging him. The two joined Ram Dayal in an auto-rickshaw when he was on his way to New Delhi railway station and allegedly stole his belongings.
Japanese grant for JNU
The grant is being provided under its "Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects" and the Ambassador of Japan Yasukuni Enoki signed the agreement with a JNU representative on Thursday.
