Toronto: An Indian in Canada, who lost his life while saving his son from drowning, has been bestowed with a bravery award. Mulchand (44) and his son were fishing in the Assiniboine river in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, on August 3, 2005 when the boy fell into the water and was swept away. Mulchand jumped into the water to save his son. The boy managed to grab on to Mulchand but the two were soon separated. The boy was recovered by a man . Mulchand, however, could not be saved. — PTI
