BANGALORE: The Badminton Asia Confederation's Level II coaches clinic conducted by the Tata Padukone Badminton Academy concluded here on Friday. Seventeen coaches from the Asian region, including Malaysia, Iraq, Syria, Laos, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Thailand, Maldives and Bangladesh, participated in the 20-day clinic, which was supervised by Kim Young Man of Korea who was the former head coach of both South Korea and Japan. He was assisted by U. Vimal Kumar, the former Indian national coach. Kim Young Man said: "Right now, there is a big gulf between top Asian Nations and the rest and such a clinic helps in bridging that divide. We had sessions on the latest technique, training methods, fitness, strokeplay and on scoring."
