Leaking tank in Kolar hospital leaves patients parched

Staff Correspondent

Kolar: Kolar is synonymous with drought, which makes conservation inevitable. But Sri Narasimha Raja District Hospital presents a different picture. The water tank on the hospital premises leaks, resulting in wastage of precious water.

The authorities have turned a blind eye to this. The stagnant water around the tank has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. The leak has created dangerous situation in the pump house beneath the tank. Besides this, a drinking water facility for the convenience of patients and their relatives, provided by Rotary Clubs of Kolar and Bangalore has been rendered useless. Venkatamma, relative of a patient, said: "Wasting water in this manner is unpardonable." "Officers should repair the drinking water outlet donated by the organisations," said Muniraj, also a visitor.
