Reigning queen of the small screen still wanting to go miles

Madhur Tankha

NEW DELHI: She may be the reigning queen of India's television industry but Ekta Kapoor still has lot of dreams to fulfil. She will be seen talking to anchor Anjali Rao on CNN International's show "Talk Asia" as part of "Eye On India" series on Saturday.

Ekta has her eyes set on leading the media industry 20 years from now. "I would want to be in every department that media has to offer. And, of course, movies," she adds. Ekta admits finding her level of influence "scary''. "It comes with the fact that you can actually change the thinking of people," she adds. "We have this so-called thing where women are taken as sex symbols and men are the heroes. In television, women are the identifiable characters, the heroines," she says.
