HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) members staged a walkout in the Assembly on Friday, accusing the Government of failing to expedite the construction of Nagarjunsagar project's tail pond. Before leading the walkout during question hour, party floor leader G.Vijayarama Rao alleged that the Government was not showing the same interest for the construction of the tail pond, as was displayed for Polavaram and Pothyreddipadu. 30p.c. work completed
Intervening, Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy said the tail pond was being executed speedily and so far 30 per cent of the overall works were completed. The first consignment of equipment would be despatched in June. Earlier, replying to the main question, Power Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the tail pond works were scheduled to be completed by November 2008.
Bhadra LI project
Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah told Devineni Rajasekhar (Congress) that the Bhadra Lift irrigation project, proposed by the Karnataka Government, was still under investigation.
