BHUBANESWAR: Communist Party of India (Maoist), naxalite group, has allegedly threatened to kill police and political leaders in protest of intensification of police operation in Rayagada and Malkanagiri districts of Orissa. In a two-page message with signature showing name of Sunil, the naxalite group had protested alleged fake encounter in two districts. The message said police were using the naxalites, who were surrendering due to lure of money, to oppress innocent tribals in Rayagada, Malkanagiri, Gajapati and Sambalpur districts. It said the tribals were indiscriminately picked up by the personnel of Special Operation Group, CRPF and India Reserve Battalion. "The police have created a war-like situation by killing our men and torturing innocent people. Moreover, its intelligence wing is targeting our cadre," the message said. The People's Liberation Guerilla Army would be forced to carry out attack on police and leaders and Naveen Patnaik Government would be held responsible for these attacks, the letter, which was faxed to different media houses, said.
