Delhi Metro to run feeder buses

NEW DELHI: To boost its ridership, the Delhi Metro will run feeder buses between Indraprastha station and ITO beginning next week.

To be run on a trial basis for three months, the two buses will ply between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

"Two buses will run at an interval of 20 minutes during non-peak hours and during peak hours, 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the frequency will be reduced to 10 minutes," DMRC sources said.

Buses with a seating capacity of 18-20, will cover a total distance of 4 km from IP station to ITO and Tilak Bridge and back. Passengers will have to pay a fare of Rs. 2 for the one-way journey.

Award for Paramount Airways

NEW DELHI: The Udyog Rattan Award was conferred on Paramount Airways managing director M. Thiagarajan by former Tamil Nadu Governor Bhishma Narain Singh at a function here on Friday. The Award for Excellence was conferred on Paramount Airways

The award was presented in recognition of Mr. Thiagarajan's excellence in productivity, quality, innovation and management in the aviation sector.

The Udyog Ratan Award and Award for Excellence is conferred every year by the Institute of Economic Studies.

Blood donation camp

NEW DELHI: Delhi College of Advance Studies, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, in association with the Indian Red Cross Society organised a blood donation camp in the Capital this past Thursday.

On the occasion, Delhi College of Advance Studies Director P.V. Khatri motivated the students for the noble cause.

He appealed to the students to donate blood at least one time in their lives.

Besides a number of students, some faculty members of the college also donated blood.

PNB offers concession on education loan

NEW DELHI: Punjab National Bank will offer concession in interest rates on education loan scheme from April 1.

The bank has reduced interest rates on education loan up to Rs. 4 lakh under the PNB Vidya Lakshya Purti Scheme by 125 basis points i.e. 11.50 per cent per annum and under the PNB Sarvotam Shiksha Scheme by 50 basis points i.e. 10.50 per cent per annum.

The concession in interest rates is being offered by the bank to facilitate the students to avail themselves of education loan on comfortable and affordable rates.
