Maken urges BJP not to politicise sealing issue

Staff Reporter

"No scope of confusion because of Supreme Court order''

NEW DELHI: Urging the Bharatiya Janata Party not to politicise the issue of sealing by spreading misinformation, Union Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken said on Friday that there was "no scope of confusion and therefore no panic because of the Supreme Court order''.

Stating that the apex court has in its order stated that "only activities and streets that are not covered by the new Master Plan for Delhi-2021 will face sealing''. As such, he urged BJP to refrain from spreading panic by resorting to misinformation on the issue.

The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma also expressed his "pleasure'' at the court's order and said it has "put a brake on the sinister plans of the BJP to sow seeds of suspicion in the minds of Delhi's citizens.''

Mr Sharma said "through this order the Supreme Court has given its stamp of approval for the Master Plan for Delhi-2021''.

He said the order has also put an end to the misinformation campaign of BJP on the issue of sealing.

The Delhi Congress president said the party has given relief to 95 per cent of the people of Delhi through the new Master Plan by addressing issues pertaining to their livelihood and business.
