Staff Reporter

JOIN THE FUN: Yerran Naidu launching the coconut water dispenser in Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD: Day temperature is soaring and the Coconut Development Board has decided to make the most of it.

The board has come up with mobile tender coconut water dispensers to quench city denizens' thirst this summer.

It launched the first such dispenser here on Friday, serving chilled coconut water.

Twenty green "Coco Fresco" dispensers will be placed near corporate offices, hospitals and schools within a week to supply coconut water in cups under hygienic conditions.

Over 100 tender coconuts can be stored in each machine, made of fibreglass, board chairperson Minnie Mathew told reporters.

"Our aim is to promote coconut as a nutritional drink ideal for summer," she said. Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party leader K. Yerran Naidu, after launching the dispenser, stressed the need for educating people on advantages of coconut water.
