Gives memorandum to MCH Commissioner

Notices not served to those affected: TRS MP Many families have been staying there for generations
HYDERABAD:
Residents and businessmen of some of the old city areas of Charkaman, Urdu Galli, Sher-e-Batil, Mitti-Ka-Sher and Shakkar Kotha have appealed to the MCH to desist from undertaking any demolitions for road widening. A group of residents led by Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP A. Narendra took out a procession from Gulzar House to the MCH head office on Friday and submitted a memorandum to Commissioner Sanjay Jaju on the issue.
Mr. Narendra told the Commissioner that planning personnel were preparing grounds to demolish properties without serving notices or providing alternatives to those affected. Many would be left without homes and shops, he said. He pointed out that those likely to be displaced by road widening works -- for the proposed inner ring road to provide alternative route for vehicular traffic away from Charminar -- had been living there for many generations.
