Idea Star Singer '07 contest

Thiruvananthapuram: Idea Cellular Limited in association with Asianet has announced the `Idea Star Singer '07' contest.

According to a press release, this reality television show provides a platform for youngsters to showcase their singing talent. To participate in the contest, a candidate has to dial 4560101 from his/her Idea mobile. The candidate will then be taken through the procedure for recording a song in Hindi, Malayalam or Tamil. Calls will be charged at Rs.6.99 per minute.

The preliminaries will be held in Thiruvananthapuram. From the preliminary rounds 30 singers will be short-listed. The elimination rounds on TV will be done through SMS and the decision of the judges. The winner will get an opportunity to be part of a project of a film director. The winner will also be given an apartment in Bangalore worth Rs.40 lakh.

Idea Chief Operations Officer (Kerala) B. Ramakrishna was among those who participated in the ceremony to announce the contest.
