HYDERABAD: Golconda Institute of Diamonds, touted as the first-of-its-kind facility for training youth in diamond grading, assessing and cutting, is all set to open on a 3,500-square feet space in the city. Information Minister Mohd. Ali Shabbir will inaugurate the facility on Saturday.

At a press conference here on Friday, its CMD Imran Shareef said that finer, technical aspects of grading, assessing and cutting apart, candidates would also be taught the nuances of marketing diamonds, how they should be show-cased and how the salient features of diamonds could be explained to prospective buyers.

Initially, they would introduce an eight-week course in grading and assessing and five-week course in cutting and polishing.
