CIAL director board meets today

NEDUMBASSERY: The director board meeting of Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL) will be held in Thiruvananthapuram at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday.

Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, who is also the chairman of the airport company, will chair the meeting. CIAL sources said the budget set aside for various development projects conceived by the airport company will be placed before the meeting for approval. Prominent among the projects are the Information Technology Park and the Golf course planned on the land owned by the airport company. A major proposal to declare the airport a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) would be placed by the airport company before the meeting.

Houses for tsunami victims

KOCHI: The keys of three houses constructed for tsunami victims at Chellanam area by the Rotary Club of Cochin Global and Federation of Kerala Association in North America will be handed over to the beneficiaries on Saturday. Cooking gas connections will also be provided to two houses that were completed last year for the tsunami victims, said a communication issued by club president K.D. Varghese. Staff Reporter

Plea for single window system

KOCHI: A meeting of BSNL Employees Union has urged the Government to introduce single window system at BSNL offices where the customers could avail themselves of all the services offered by the Department. Staff Reporter
