TRS accuses its MLA of cross-voting

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has identified its Narsampet MLA K. Laxma Reddy for cross-voting that marred the chances of the party's official candidate M. Sudarshan Rao in elections to the Legislative Council from MLAs quota.

Mr. Reddy was alleged to have cast his first preference vote to Independent candidate Kasani Gyaneshwar, who was fielded by nine rebel TRS MLAs.

TRS floor leader in Assembly G. Vijayarama Rao told reporters that the party leadership would initiate action against Mr. Reddy.

Mr. Reddy was among the four MLAs selected to cast first preference votes to Mr. Sudarshan Rao.
