ANANTAPUR: `Arogya Sri' social health insurance scheme, being introduced by the State Government, will cover 8,70,616 families below the poverty line in the district, said Collector D. Kadmiel, here on Friday. At a meeting held here to review the arrangements being made for the launch of the scheme on March 31, he said that the insurance scheme would ensure cover to beneficiaries from heart-related problems, cancer, neuro- surgery, renal diseases, burns and trauma cases. The beneficiary families would be examined by the General Hospital and Asha Hospital here and the needy would be given treatment, including surgeries.
They could also get treatment in 104 listed hospitals in the State.
Loans disbursed
At another function organised by Andhra Bank to disburse loans, Mr. Kadmiel urged traders to repay bank loans in time.
He complimented the bankers for cooperating in achieving the targets fixed in the implementation of welfare schemes.
He also complimented the Kirana and General Merchants' Association for providing Rs. 3 crores financial assistance to 380 small and medium traders with the help of Andhra Bank.
